As we age, the flexibility of our eye muscles slowly decreases. This means that reading glasses are inevitable at some point.
In the past, this problem could not be resolved with laser eye treatment, only far vision problems could be treated.
International Vision Centers is the first clinic in the Netherlands to have the latest treatment method to permanently correct far vision and near vision in one treatment: SUPRACOR
How do I become eligible for SUPRACOR?
You will be eligible for SUPRACOR laser eye treatment if:
- You are at least 50 years of age, but younger than 65
- The strength of your glasses (or contact lenses) lies between +1.00 and +2.50.
- Your reading glasses are stronger than +2.00.
Do your eyes meet these criteria? Make an appointment for a consultation and let us inform you what SUPRACOR can do for you!
If you do not meet the criteria, we can still inform you of the options that are available to you.
Treatment in combination with FemtoSecond Lasik
The SUPRACOR reading glasses correction is performed in combination with a standard FemtoSecond Lasik procedure. With the FemtoSecond Lasik procedure, a thin layer of the cornea, the flap, is cut loose with the Intralase laser.
This flap is then folded off to the side and out of the way. The eye surgeon can then correct the shape of the cornea using the Technolas 217P laser and the special SUPRACOR software.
The SUPRACOR software gives the cornea a multifocal profile. Both your near and far vision are corrected with a single procedure.
The results with Supracor Technolas
With a SUPRACOR laser eye treatment you will no longer need reading glasses to read your newspaper or book, or for reading labels while shopping. If the text you want to read is extra small, you may need reading glasses with a slight correction. The results of the treatment are permanent.
